On the afternoon of January 28th, 3 members of SEF collected the donations generously given by the community and brought them to Vicky and Sharon, 2 sisters who lost all of their property in an apartment fire last week. They, and their 8 children, moved back in with their mother after this tragedy. We at SEF were able to provide Vicky and Sharon with clothing, bedding, dishes, backpacks, and other household needs. We were also able to present to her gift cards and money to help with the financial hardships they are facing. Vicky, Sharon, and their children were truly appreciative of everyone's contributions. The children were especially excited when they saw all the backpacks and school bags! The little one's eyes lit up when they saw all the pudding packets! Vicky and Sharon want to thank everyone for their support. We will continue to follow up with Vicky and Sharon as they recover from their losses and assist them in the future as needed. As SEF, we would like to thank all of you who have made this campaign possible.

We have obtained more information about the specific needs of the families we mentioned in the earlier notice today. This may be helpful to some of you in deciding how to help. Ms. Vicky Settler's kids are 11(boy), 8(girl), and 6(girl) years old. Her sister Sharon's children are 10(boy), 8(boy), 6(boy), and 2 year old twins (boy/girl) years old. At this point, they need clothing, bedding, and kitchen supplies (cups, plates, silverware, etc.), and relatively fine with food presently. After they find a new place to stay they may be in need of furniture. Further needs will be assessed after this Sunday's visit to the families. We hope this piece information will be beneficial to you.

We would like to draw your attention to the hardship two Columbus families are going through nowadays. As a result of the fire that occurred in their apartment, two families have been left in need this past Monday (01/22/2007). Two sisters, along with their seven children, now reside with their parents. The apartment was significantly damaged, and the families lost everything they had. As SEF, we would like to initiate a campaign to help these two families as soon as possible to alleviate what they are going through during these cold days of the Winter.
You may help either by donations in kind or gift cards. As the need is wide-ranging, we do not restrict the kind of donation you can make. If you would like to help in any way, please bring your donations to our facilities (see below for address). You may contact us at info@sefohio.org. We thank our members who brought this issue to our attention, and we trust that your valuable contributions will make the life easier for the two families in need.
Deadline: 28 January 2007, 12:00PM
