Jill Carroll Lecture 2008

 

Dr. Jill Carroll who is a faculty member at Rice University in Houston, TX and the executive director of Boniuk Center for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance was the guest of SEF to give a lecture entitled "Dialogue of Civilizations." The lecture discussed the well-known Muslim scholar Fethullah Gulen, and was based on her latest book "A Dialogue of Civilizations: Gulen's Islamic Ideals and Humanistic Discourse." Rebecca Nelson, the director of Multicultural Center and assistant vice president for Student Affairs at OSU, welcomed the guests at the lecture, and also introduced Dr. Carroll for her speech. The lecture took place at the Ohio State University on the 25th of January, 2008. Dr. Carroll also was the guest Fred Andrle and the Open Line radio program. The event was sponsored by the Multicultural Center at the Ohio State University, and Students for Dialogue at OSU.
